Rosenkranz succeeds Rolf Rische, who has played a key role in shaping the publications of DW's Culture and Documentaries department for over 30 years and will in future be responsible for special projects as Chief Editor Culture and Documentaries.

Jochen Rosenkranz: "As Director of Culture and Documentaries, Rolf Rische has created something extraordinary: A product world with internationally renowned program brands and successful social media channels. I have great respect for his work and feel honored to follow in his footsteps."

Dr. Nadja Scholz, DW Managing Director Programming: "Rolf Rische led our Main Department Culture and Documentaries with enormous commitment, expertise and creativity. I am very grateful to him for his exceptional services. At the same time, I am delighted to welcome Jochen Rosenkranz as our new head. With his clear vision and journalistic expertise, he will lead the main department into a promising future. I wish him every success and very much look forward to working with him."

Jochen Rosenkranz has been working for DW for three years and was previously Head of the Life and Style Department. In the early days of his 25-year journalistic career, he worked as a reporter and later as a director of various tv formats. As Senior Program Manager at ProSiebenSat.1, he was responsible for the development of journalistic formats and finally spent more than ten years at production companies managing formats for private and public broadcasters in the areas of entertainment, talk and reportage.

Rosenkranz: "The biggest difference compared to my previous jobs is the complexity of the tasks at DW. As an Executive Producer for German broadcasters, I used to produce formats for a single target group with my teams. Now there are formats in countless versions, for many different target groups, in a variety of languages. I'm always amazed that it works so well. And I'm delighted with my top-class management team, who routinely juggle this complexity."
