The Global Media Forum fellowship program

Since 2012, the Global Media Forum has welcomed 200 participants from developing countries, joining the conference as part of our Fellowship Program. This has been made possible with help from the Federal Foreign Office.

The Global Media Forum Fellowship Program 2019 also included a one-day capacity-building event on May 29 – the day that immediately followed the two-day conference.

A variety of skills workshops were offered, covering topics a range of topics including online verification, mobile and data journalism, fundraising, innovation management, interview technique and media training. There were also several networking opportunities and side events taking place, allowing fellows to get to know the other fellows, learn more about DW and become better acquainted with Germany.

The Global Media Forum Fellowship Program

Since 2012, the Global Media Forum has annually welcomed up to 200 participants from developing and transition countries, joining the conference as part of our Fellowship Program. This has been made possible with special funds made available by the Federal Foreign Office.

The program is aimed at attracting influencers, innovators and/or multipliers from the media (including journalists, bloggers and media managers) as well as participants from civil society (academics, NGO representatives, entrepreneurs and cultural practitioners).
