Electromobility - a viable alternative?

Electric vehicles are emission-free, quiet and need less maintenance than gasoline or diesel powered cars. Yet only a tiny percentage of vehicles worldwide are electric. That's partly due to lengthy charging times and a lack of infrastructure.
