Ghana is holding its ninth presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7. The country has experienced a stable democracy since returning to constitutional rule in 1992. Over 18 million registered voters will this weekend be choosing a new president to take over from the outgoing president, Nana Akufo Addo, who has already served his two terms. Incumbent Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia from the ruling party and former President John Mahama from the opposition are the two front runners. Eddy Micah Jr talks to Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Gadafi, a political scientist and DW correspondent in Accra, Isaac Kaledzi.
