Our Bundesliga tips for Matchday Six
There's plenty of Bundesliga action again this weekend, including the Ruhr derby between Schalke and Dortmund. DW's Andreas Sten-Ziemons gives his predictions ahead of the weekend's action.
Japanese guarantee
Mainz have finally found their footing this season, thanks to Shinji Okazaki (pictured above on the left). We think that he'll help his team to a win against Hoffenheim too, keeping Kasper Hjulmand's side undefeated. Our prediction: 3-2 to Mainz.
The party is over
Paderborn's Benteler-Arena has been tough for visiting teams this season, but that is about to change. The former league leaders won't be good enough for Borussia Mönchengladbach, who will counter-attack and grab the win. Our prediction: 3-1 to the Foals.
Cologne to win, 0-0
Finally, Cologne's fans will get to see what they suspected all along: their team is just as good as Bayern. Well, kind of. Cologne won't score a goal against the record champions, but they won't concede one either. Our prediction: A 0-0 draw.
A bitter pill for Leverkusen
Leverkusen are struggling to get a team together. A number of regulars are injured or recovering from injury. Freiburg, on the other hand, are frustrated after drawing their last two games due to last-minute goals. We reckon they'll want to let their frustration out and Leverkusen won't be able to stop them. Our prediction: 2:1 to Freiburg
Goal-rich Ruhr derby
Dortmund continue to struggle in defense and it will be the same story when they take on Schalke in Gelsenkirchen. The Royal Blues, without the dynamic Julian Draxler, will manage three goals but will concede just as many. A heated derby will end with a draw. Our prediction: 3-3.
Releasing the tension
The dismissal of board member Fredi Bobic wasn't really a clean operation, but at least it managed to wake up the Stuttgart team. Against Hannover it will be just like the good old days again. Our prediction: 2-1 to Stuttgart.
Wolves to have too much bite for Bremen
Werder Bremen used to have a good team and play lots of attractive football. Nowadays though, many former Werder footballers, play in Wolfsburg. And that's why the Wolves should have the stronger side and why they'll run out winners in this encounter. Our prediction: 2-1 to Wolfsburg.
Sixth game, third win
Slow and steady wins the race: Augsburg will stay true to their style against Berlin and will show no signs of concern about recent losses. Against their guests from the capital they should have enough to win it. Our prediction: 2-0 to Augsburg.
Onwards and upwards!
Hamburg can play well, when they want to. New coach Joe Zinnbauer will get them up to speed ahead of the team's match against Frankfurt, and the team will run themselves ragged to win it. Our prediction: Hamburg to earn a 3-0 victory.
Not a great return
DW reporter André Leslie managed to get us just three points in his predictions from this week's mid-week games. Still we are now sitting on 22 points and are 691 in the rankings. If you want to put your predictions in, it's still not too late: http://kickoff.dw.de/betting.xhtml
