Planet Berlin: Waste not, want not
Australian Stacey Kent only wanted to come to Berlin for a short time. Since 2014, he has been producing sustainable furniture with reclaimed wood.
Experiments with pallets
At the beginning, Stacey Kent experimented with discarded wooden pallets. The initial furniture he produced was sold among his circle of friends.
Reclaimed raw material
Wood is as individual as a person; it has unique characteristics via its grains, curves and even imperfections. Stacey Kent produces tables, benches and shelves with reclaimed wood retrieved from construction sites and shipyards. The results are both rustic and contemporary.
Customer satisfaction
Kent is a self-taught furniture maker who likes to create bespoke pieces based on the special needs of the customer. On the Kentholz website, buyers can also choose from established furniture styles, including a large range of tables from "Natural Kent" to "Business Kent." Reworked design classics such as a mid-century String shelf are also on offer.
Making old new again
Stacey Kent is committed to positively impacting the environment by creating high-quality furniture pieces from what others see as waste. By salvaging and using existing material that would otherwise be scrapped, Kent hopes to limit the logging of trees and forests that supply oxygen and act as carbon sinks.
