Politicians in Northern Ireland unite in condemnation of renewed terrorist attacks

The Republican splinter group, the "Continuity IRA" has claimed responsibility for shooting dead a police officer in Northern Ireland on Monday. The shooting took place on a predominantly Catholic housing estate in the town of Craig Avon.. around 40 kilometres southwest of Belfast. The attack comes just days after two British soldiers were killed north of the city.
